Horticultural Therapy, Care & Residential Homes
Horticultural
Therapy is the practice of engaging people in horticultural activities to
improve their emotional, physical, social, vocational and spiritual
well-being.
Jane is a trained and qualified horticultural therapist and can tailor a variety of horticultural services to clients’ particular requirements, from the design of sensory gardens and landscaping of care and residential homes to the provision of horticultural training and activities, for both private individuals and commercial organisations.
Planning and Design
With specialist knowledge of designing and creating imaginative landscape spaces for therapeutic settings, landscape botanica works with clients on projects ranging from simple healing herb gardens and adapting existing gardens for private individuals with special needs to urban and rural therapeutic gardens, healthcare facilities and healthy community design.
Activities and Programmes
Interaction
with the natural environment is vitally important to health and
well-being. Providing a closer connection to nature enhances peoples’
lives. Studies show that therapeutic benefits occur when people are
exposed to plants and take part in horticultural activities such as
planting, growing and caring for plants.
Jane designs and delivers imaginative horticulture–related indoor and outdoor, all year round activities and horticultural therapy programmes. She works closely with clients of all abilities to provide activities tailor-made to suit their particular needs and requirements.
